London Living Wage for Refugees in Islington Report, 5th November 2015
Islington Refugee Forum in partnership with the London Living Wage Foundation held a breakfast event to raise awareness and highlight the importance of the Living Wage (LW). There were three guest speakers. Lela Kogbara- Assistant Chief Executive of the Islington Council spoke on “The role of the council in Promoting LLW”. Lucila Grenada from Latin American Women’s Rights Services (LAWRS) spoke on “How low pay affects Refugees”. Emily Kenway from Living Wage Foundation- Citizens UK spoke on “Living Wage, its history, how it’s winning and changing lives” (her presentation to download). In this meeting people found more information about London Living Wage campaign and how this might improve the life of those who are underpaid.
